The safety of all children and staff is very important to us. We regularly update a detailed risk assessment outlining all of the measures we have put in place to keep children and staff safe. These measures include:
-
Having clear guidelines in place regarding any health concerns- any children or staff with COVID-19 symptoms will be asked to get tested for COVID-19 or to self-isolate for 10 days.
-
Keeping children and staff in bubbles. This means that different children are dropped off and collected at different points.
-
Dismissing children slightly early so that a thorough clean of the environment and toys can take place between sessions.
-
Limiting visitors on site- for this reason we ask parents wherever possible to drop off children at the door or gate. Parents are not currently permitted in the Nursery building.
-
Asking parents to wear masks/face coverings at drop off and collection times.
-
Staff can choose to wear masks/face coverings when they work with children. All staff wear masks/face coverings when they move around the Nursery building in corridors, the staffroom etc.
-
Everyone entering the site sanitizing their hands on entry.
-
Encouraging regular and thorough hand washing.
-
Ensuring the building is properly ventilated.
-
Having a protocol in place to isolate children who show symptoms of COVID-19 until they can be collected.
-
Staff self-test for COVID-19 twice a week.
